Tu has worked in Tertiary Education (TWoA for 23 years) primarily in teaching roles in Kawrau, Whakatāne and Rotorua and then, management roles. He has engaged in Rangahau at different points of time during his career. Tu has Rangahau aspirations in Māori Masculinity and Indigenous Leadership models among other Kaupapa.
