Launching your Rangahau Journey
Dr Shelley Hoani Presents: For many kaimahi, the journey begins with the pātai ‘What is rangahau?’ This invites an exploration of the concept and the practice, its methodologies, and its significance. Others might start with the introspective pātai ‘Ko wai ahau?’ prompting a deeper, more personal reflection on identity and purpose. Both pātai are thought-provoking and invite deep reflection. The blending of personal insights and scholarly inquiry highlights that Rangahau is not just an academic exercise. For many it is a personal journey of reclamation, of remembering, and of renewal.
Māori Mindfulness
Dr Joni Angeli-Gordon introduces us to her doctoral kaupapa which focused on Mauritau in Kura Kaupapa Māori. Titled ‘Ko ia tonu te rangatira o tana mauri: Ko te Mauritau hei tohu o te puāwaitanga o Te Aho Matua ki Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Hoani Waititi Marae’ – Joni’s presentation offers a unique insight into the conceptualising of her kaupapa and the actualising of her Rangahau.
