Biography:

Griffa Rivers is a Kaihāpai Rangahau Matua based in Tāmaki Makaurau. She has a background in education and a deep commitment to kaupapa reo Māori for tamariki. Griffa began learning the language in 2009 and continues to develop her own understanding while also teaching adults. She is particularly interested in how Pākehā navigate the Māori world, and her current rangahau explores the privilege and responsibility of Pākehā learners of te reo Māori - examining how that privilege might be critically reflected upon and redirected in service of Māori language revitalisation.
