Born in Te Tai Tokerau and raised in Rotorua, Ben has recently completed a Master of Architecture (Professional) qualification at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington, where he explored the intersection of tūrangawaewae and architecture as a conduit between one's identity, wellbeing, and sense of belonging. Before moving to Pōneke, Ben worked in the high-voltage electrical industry alongside linemen and electricians on projects across Aotearoa. Now, he has a special interest and is involved in kaupapa Māori research, design equity, and rangahau considering the built environment broadly.
